Two Years Running: Daseke the Top Flatbed/Specialized Carrier in CCJ’s Top 250

When CCJ magazine calculates who makes the list for its Top 250, it’s not based on just revenue. It’s also based on other indicators, such as number of drivers and power units. It’s a fair and accurate way to judge who makes the grade and who truly are the industry leaders.

For the second consecutive year, Daseke’s numbers were impressive, cementing Daseke into the No. 1 spot in the Flatbed/Specialized/Heavy Haul segment. Overall, Daseke came in at No. 37 in the Top 250 —  jumping up five spots from the 2016 survey.

Daseke had the flatbed segment’s largest increase in revenue (from $678 million in the 2016 survey, to $818 million in the 2017 survey), plus increased its driver count to 3,500, and total tractor/trailer count to more than 11,000.  Overall, the flatbed haulers in the Top 250 saw total power unit counts drop by 31,000.  Daseke bucked the trend.

“We continue to attract top quality flatbed and specialized companies to join Daseke,” said Don Daseke, CEO of Daseke. “Numbers tell a story; and we’ve got a good one to tell. The quality of our services and breadth of our network with our now 13 top tier operating companies continue to propel us forward with our customers.”
