Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association

Daseke, Inc. Now Ranked No. 2 in SC&RA’s ACT TRANSPORT Top 50

The headline was appropriate: “Large and in Charge.”  That was from the December 2014 issue of Specialized Carriers and Riggers Association’s (SC&RA): American Cranes & Transport (ACT) magazine, which listed the Top 50 specialized fleets in North America. Making the biggest news in the ranking was the rapid ascent of Daseke, Inc.  Led by the diverse flatbed trailer specialization of Lone Star Transportation, E.W Wylie, J. Grady Randolph and Smokey Point Distributing the eight companies, under the Daseke, Inc. umbrella, put Daseke, Inc.  in the No. 2 position in fleet capacity, only behind Landstar Transportation Logistics.

“We’re proud to be the fastest growing, deepest managed open-deck/specialty transportation company in North America,” said Don Daseke, CEO of Daseke, Inc. “We have more than 2,600 tractors and 5,500 trailers. Over 2,000 of those trailers classify as specialty. We appreciate ACT’s ranking and validation process.”

According to Daseke, Inc., the company’s size and dedicated people (the rankings show that Daseke, Inc. is the largest employer amongst all carriers) provides a strong platform for the future.

“We feel the combination of great people and diverse equipment makes us the premier carrier in the open-deck/specialty category; it will allow us to continue to grow and exceed customer expectations.”
